On Saturday, May 16, 2026, Ms.Lily Chang, World President Elect, International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) gave her speech at the opening session of the 2026 Asia Pacific Real Estate Convention by FIABCI Thai, Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Bangkok.

Honourable President of FIABCI-Thai, Dr. Sopon Pornchokchai, and Members of the Board,
Distinguished Guests, Dear Members, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good morning,  Sawasdee Kah.

It is both a pleasure and an honour for me to be back in Bangkok for the 2026 Asia Pacific Real Estate Convention.

Two years ago, I attended this convention as one of the guest speakers representing FIABCI-Taiwan. Today, it is especially meaningful for me to return as FIABCI World President-Elect, just a few weeks before I officially begin my term as FIABCI World President at the World Congress in Vienna this coming June.

First of all, on behalf of FIABCI World President Antonio Campagnoli, please allow me to extend our sincere congratulations to FIABCI-Thai, President Sopon, and the entire organizing committee for organizing this outstanding convention.

FIABCI, founded in Paris in 1951, is a truly global and multidisciplinary federation that connects real estate professionals across more than 80 countries and regions. For over 75 years, FIABCI has served as a bridge for international collaboration, professional exchange, and the sharing of best practices.

Today’s theme, “Real Estate Professionals & AI in the New Era,” is both timely and forward looking.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping our industry from smart cities and sustainable development to investment analysis, construction technologies, and property services.

However, while technology continues to evolve, we must always remember that real estate is ultimately about people, communities, and quality of life.

I strongly believe that AI should not replace humanity. Instead, it should empower us to become better professionals, better leaders, and better contributors to society.

As FIABCI continues to move forward, I hope we can further strengthen international collaboration, encourage innovation, support younger generations, and work together to create more sustainable, resilient, and human-centred cities.

The Asia-Pacific region remains one of the most dynamic regions in the world, and gatherings such as today’s remind us of the importance of friendship, dialogue, and international cooperation.

In closing, I would like to once again thank FIABCI-Thai, President Sopon, and all of you for your warm hospitality and continued dedication to FIABCI.

I also sincerely hope to welcome many of you next month at the FIABCI World Congress in Vienna.
