FIABCI at MIPIM 2026
AREA Press Release No. 285/2026: March 23, 2026
Dr.Sopon Pornchokchai, Ph.D. Dip.FIABCI, MRICS
President, Agency for Real Estate Affairs (AREA)
MIPIM 2026 has once again proven to be a very successful edition.
For our community, MIPIM continues to stand as one of the most important global platforms for dialogue, visibility, cooperation, and business development within the real estate industry.
First of all, please allow us to express our sincere appreciation to our Direct Corporate Member and Partner MIPIM and RX France, including Filippo Rean, Director of RX France, and Matthieu Rugnaut, MIPIM Marketing Director, for their continued support and cooperation with FIABCI.
Our programme at MIPIM this year included more than 20 sessions and over 50 speakers, featuring panel discussions, keynote sessions, presentations, B2B meetings, Pecha Kucha sessions, welcome receptions and networking moments, as well as our traditional Gala Dinner.
1. HIGHLIGHTS
1.1. FIABCI Gala Dinner
A first highlight of our presence was the FIABCI Gala Dinner, which was fully booked and enabled us to open MIPIM on a high note at the prestigious Hotel Majestic in Cannes. We were honoured to welcome Ms. Anacláudia Rossbach, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of UN-Habitat, alongside many other distinguished guests and leaders of our partner and member local, regional, and global organisations, including the leadership of RICS, SIOR, CCIM Institute, Miami Realtors, Florida Realtors, and FIABCI delegations from around the world.
The Gala Dinner, as indeed the entire FIABCI programme at MIPIM, also served as an important reminder that our Principal Members are truly at the very foundation of FIABCI. They are the pillars of our organisation. Above all, FIABCI was, and remains, an organisation of associations. Throughout the years, the role of our Principal Members – at local, regional, and international level – has been essential. Through their work with real estate professionals, and through their commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and professional standards, they contribute enormously to the development of our activities worldwide and to advancing the interests of the global real estate profession.
1.2. FIABCI Pavilion
Another major highlight was the FIABCI Pavilion. With its new strategic location next to the MIPIM VIP Lounge, a conference area three times larger, a sea-view terrace, and more spacious exhibition areas, the Pavilion proved even more comfortable and welcoming for our delegates, partners, and visitors.
Over 100 FIABCI members from more than 30 countries took part in the 2026 edition. Approximately half of them attended MIPIM on a complimentary basis as registered delegates, while the other half benefited from the affiliate rate, representing a 50% discounted rate.
We were once again delighted to see how actively our delegates used these facilities for meetings, to promote their projects and business opportunities, to connect with peers from different regions, to engage in dialogue, to extend their markets, and to share knowledge.
1.3. Bilateral Meetings
Beyond the official programme, MIPIM 2026 also offered an excellent platform for a number of high-level bilateral meetings. These included discussions with :
• the Minister of Land, Housing and Urban Development of Uganda, in order to elaborate the next steps for the development of FIABCI’s activities in Uganda and to provide relevant expertise in line with the priorities of the local government in the fields of real estate, housing, and urban development.
• the Executive Director of UN-Habitat and her delegation in preparation for FIABCI’s future engagement at WUF13, the 2026 Congress, and new strategic initiatives, including the preparation of a new global partnership framework.
• the Mayor of Lviv, on which occasion a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with our local chapter in support of initiatives aimed at rebuilding a sustainable and resilient city through the provision of relevant expertise.
MIPIM also offered valuable opportunities to meet with our Chapter leaders, current and potential Principal Members and partner organizations, with a view to reinforce our presence locally, as well as to deepening and expanding cooperation in fields such as architecture, commercial and residential brokerage, valuation, property development, asset management, and cross-border investment.
1.4. Global Visibility
MIPIM 2026 was also exceptional in terms of the global visibility it generated for FIABCI, our value proposition, our community, our partners, and our ongoing and upcoming projects and initiatives. Through multiple communication and marketing tools — including large-format billboards, advertising in print and digital media, coverage in the MIPIM Preview Magazine, the MIPIM Daily Newsletters, and promotion of our Congress and other major activities — FIABCI succeeded in strengthening its profile and presence throughout the event.
It was particularly rewarding to see our members encounter FIABCI so prominently while walking towards the Palais des Festivals, browsing the MIPIM publications, or attending our activities on site.
1.5. Financial Achievements
From a financial perspective, it is worth noting that the overall MIPIM budget has increased approximately fourfold since 2017, while remaining fully and entirely self-financed, without any contribution from membership fees, as in previous years. This remains an important achievement and reflects both the scale and the sustainability of the project.
2. GRATITUDE
None of this would have been possible without the support of our Strategic Partners Eye of Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and Harley & Dikkinson (Italy); our Global Partners Ciputra (Indonesia), Daikin (Japan), YKK (Taiwan), GFC Elevators (Taiwan), and Matteini & Associates (Italy); our Gala Dinner Partners Treasure Dragon (Taiwan) and Elekta (Italy); our Exhibition Partner Ambassador Island (Georgia); our Conference Partners, including our new Public Member Lviv City Council (Ukraine), Principal Member Miami Realtors (USA), and Regular Member Foxworth Realty; our RE Key Partners Magnini (Italy), Insights (Italy), Studio Legale (Italy), ISIVI (Italy), Universal Consulting Opportunities powered by Stellar MLS (USA), Andalusia Group (UAE/Spain), Il Punto (Italy), Voice of Space (Ukraine), and Baker Tilly (Italy); as well as many of our chapters, including FIABCI-Austria, FIABCI-Georgia, FIABCI-Italy, FIABCI-Saudi Arabia, FIABCI-Ukraine, and FIABCI-USA, all of whom contributed content and speakers.
We are deeply grateful for their valuable support and contribution to the success of this project.
It is also with immense pleasure that we extend our most sincere gratitude to Antonio Campagnoli, World President; Lily Chang, President Elect; Julian Josephs, Honorary Past President; Susan Greenfield, Past World President; all chapter and partner leaders; and each and every participant for their tremendous efforts, engagement, and contribution.
Last but certainly not least, please allow us to express our appreciation to the General Secretariat team, including Maria João Silveira, Stella Bogado, Karène Jeanville, and also Alissa Bankovska, for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to FIABCI and its members.
